ENVIROMENTAL GRAPHICS

This project involved creating a series of graphics designed as signage for a daycare center located in Texas. The inspiration for these graphics came from the intricate and imaginative art of origami. Each piece was thoughtfully crafted to serve a dual purpose: as visual aids for the children and as a practical tool to help organize the classrooms.

The origami-inspired graphics were more than just decorative elements. They played a crucial role in the daily activities and learning environment of the daycare. By incorporating familiar shapes and animals that children could easily recognize and connect with, the graphics became engaging teaching tools. They helped the kids learn about different shapes, colors, and animals in a fun and interactive way.

Additionally, these graphics were strategically placed throughout the daycare to aid in the organization of the classrooms. Each classroom featured specific origami shapes and colors, creating a cohesive and intuitive system that made it easy for both children and teachers to navigate the space. For example, a classroom might be designated with an origami elephant in blue, while another might have an origami butterfly in yellow. This visual organization helped the children understand their environment better and promoted a sense of order and routine.

The project also emphasized the aesthetic appeal and educational value of the daycare’s environment. The vibrant and playful designs contributed to a stimulating and nurturing atmosphere, making the daycare not just a place for care, but also for learning and creativity.

Overall, this project successfully blended art and functionality, enhancing the daycare experience for both the children and the staff through beautifully designed, origami-inspired graphic
